My name is Fawaz Al Fageer, I am the founder of Saudi Hideaways, unique stays, and Hinat Tour, travel specialist in Saudi Arabia. To be honest, I wasn’t always a travel specialist.
I grew up herding hundreds of goats between the tombs of Hegra in AlUla, before there were tickets and tourists. I studied and worked in petrochemicals like many in Saudi. But when my country opened its doors to tourism I wanted to be part of the future, welcoming our new guests, meeting the world.
Bedouin are travellers of the desert and my father was the tribal leader in the greater AlUla-area. We understand the cultural importance of the right welcome as we hosted visitors in our tents all the time. All this has changed, now I camp with my family especially in the cool winter months. You might laugh when I tell you my wife and I have 9 kids, I am still a Bedouin after all!
